The Budget Babe: Lightweight Cardigans

A lightweight cardigan is a staple during the summer months!

Since summer is so hot and muggy, a heavy knitted cardigan can make you feel frumpy and sweaty, although very chic during the fall and winter months, not especially so when it comes to summer. You want a more lightweight cardigan that will still let the breeze flow through but still compliment your outfit.

These three different cardigans here are great for wearing to work or during the day for running all your daily errands!

This white cardigan is sheer and has short sleeves to keep you cool. The snug bottom hem and v-neck cut will let your top peek through. The mini pockets and buttons down the front make this cardigan all the more cute and special.

Outfit Idea: Pair this cardigan with a high waist pleated skirt and some mary janes for a professional workplace look or with some colorful skinny's and ballet flats for a cool day outfit.

This burgundy cardigan is also sheer with wide three quarter sleeves to give you some air. The kimono style of this cardigan has an open front and a cinching on the back for openness and added structure.

We love Blake Lively's style! and of course her on-screen persona on 'Gossip Girl' as Serena van der Woodsen!

This young starlet does claim that she doesn't use a celebrity stylist to help her with her outfits, and she even does her own hair and makeup a lot of the time!

 Where are you originally from? Town.. Honolulu, Hawaii
What ethnicity are you? Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Irish, Filipino, American Indian (basically mixed plate)
When did you first start modeling and why? 2008 - A photographer approached me at work and asked me to be featured in Hawaii's MMA Magazine. Loved it ever since!
Describe your style. I have 3 part time jobs so I'm usually in some kind of uniform, so on my off days you'll see me in jeans and a t-shirt =)
Hobbies? Dancing hula and Tahitian. Free diving.
Favorite food or type of food? I love Japanese food! Sushi and miso butterfish!
Favorite movie? Tangled
Dream vacation spot? Anywhere with a beach and there has to be good food!!
Best part about summer? I spend every day off at the beach and in the water.
Do you have any big dreams for the future? My biggest dream is to work in Japan. Whether its for modeling or dancing hula.

We just wanted to share with you another behind the scenes video of our Summer Lookbook 'Hello Sunshine'! It was an all day event that took place in various parts of Honolulu to capture our idea of summer and to highlight some of our favorite summer outfits and accessories!

Summer Lookbook 2012: Hello Sunshine

Our Summer Lookbook has finally been completed!!!

The whole theme of the lookbook was to showcase some of our favorite summertime outfits that are appropriate for the sunny weather while doing everyday type of things... Hanging out at the library, catching up on our favorite book, eating shave ice and musubi's (a local favorite), or just cruising along the beach.

In the lookbook you will find flowy dresses, asymmetrical hemlines, collared blouses, and a few key neutral pieces. We hope you enjoy what we put together, and we hope you find some inspiration for your summer wardrobe!

The Budget Babe: Asymmetrical Summer Dresses Under $50

Asymmetrical dresses are great for Summer! Not only are they stylish, but they are also very airy and flowy! They also come in fun prints and colors! They are easy to accessorize just by adding a simple belt, necklace, or stacking your bracelets, which can make all the difference! No matter what size or shape you are, asymmetrical dresses can be very flattering, but look best when the front hem lies above the knees.

We suggest wearing these with either some espadrilles/wedges, or flat sandals for the best relaxed summer look!

Sole Society is one of the best places to find that perfect shoe! I constantly check out their website for inspiration and to see what else they came out with.
