I am not that talented. Who am I kidding... I probably just don't have enough patience, but these nail artists come up with the most brilliant designs, I just had to share! Hairstyles: The Twist and Pin

The twist and pin hairstyle is so simple.. all you need is a head of hair, and bobby pins! That's it! You can walk out the door in less than 5 minutes looking fantabulous! However, we do have a couple of tips for those of you with more...difficult hair... that we found worked a lot better.
Tip #1: For thin or straight hair. Try spraying hair with a styling product like TIGI's Love Peace Planet 'Totally Beachin' or Bumble and Bumbles 'Surf Spray' and scrunch hair to add texture. This will help to keep your tiny buns in place without slipping out of the bobby pins.
Tip #2: If you have a little more time, try curling your hair first with a large barrel curling iron just create a little wave. Spray your hair with a heat protectant spray like Paul Mitchell's 'Hot Off the Press', which also serves as a working hairspray that will help hold hair. The curls will add enough texture to keep the buns in place and the heat protectant spray will act like a flexible hairspray.

Tip #3: Or, you can just use the old trick of not washing your hair, the night before trying out this look. Just add a little shine spray to make it look polished.

Tip #4: If you have thick hair. Try creating two or three rows of buns instead of just one. This will give you a more unique look and people will think you spent hours doing your hair =)

Note: Definitely easier to do on short to mid length hair

Its In The Bag: The Cambridge Satchel

While I was up late the other night, I was moseying around on Twitter and saw these fabulous satchels from The Cambridge Satchel Company that InStyle.com tweeted! I've been trying to find the perfect satchel for myself since probably the beginning of this year, and I think I've found it! These leather satchels have been in style since the 1970's, and are supremely popular in Britain.
These particular ones are from the Cambridge Satchel Company and they are made out of real high quality leather and they have six different styles, which include 'The Classic', 'The Fluoro', 'The Batchel', 'The Designer', 'The Music Bag', and 'The Backpack'. You can even choose which size you want! Which is great for me because satchels and messenger bags look gigantic on me! They are not that expensive at all either, and the price ranges are anywhere between $74-$113.
There's so many pretty colors... but I'm thinkin' maybe the yellow =) Here's our little styleboard!

Welcome!

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to take this time to first introduce myself! Im Janalyn, and I am the founder of August Wrinkle. We are currently in the process of creating an online clothing boutique! In the meantime I wanted to start off with a blog so you all can get to know me and what August Wrinkle is all about =)
First off, the meaning of the name 'August Wrinkle' came up randomly while I was doing a thesaurus search. 'August' is meant to mean classy, elegant, and dignified, while 'Wrinkle' means a new idea. So please don't be mistaken! Wrinkle in the name does not mean we are going to be selling you wrinkled clothing =P
A little background on myself, I started off my career in fashion working from the bottom of the totem pole. I worked as a retail sales associate for a little over 6 years at various stores, trying to learn more about the retail and fashion industry. Eventually I found myself working as a freelance makeup artist, working with different companies, photographers, and models. My love for fashion didn't just start overnight, but it was a dream of mine to one day own my own clothing boutique, ever since I was a young teenager.
Being a makeup artist sort of paved the way for me and got me inspired to actually go for my dreams of having my own clothing boutique. I still love doing makeup, and it's still one of my passions, so you will probably end up seeing a lot of posts on beauty.
In this blog, we will be posting not only about our website, but also about random things that just inspire us. Anything from fashion, beauty, DIY projects, unique findings, and whatever may spark our interest at the moment.
We want to get to know who are readers are and we want you to get to know us as well! So if there are any questions, comments, suggestions, or just random thoughts you want to share, feel free to leave a comment, or you can email us for now at: AugustWrinkle@gmail.com.
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy our blog!! And stay tuned for the Grand Opening of our website!!
Love,
Janalyn
&
the August Wrinkle Family
