Hairstyles: The Twist and Pin

The twist and pin hairstyle is so simple.. all you need is a head of hair, and bobby pins! That's it! You can walk out the door in less than 5 minutes looking fantabulous! However, we do have a couple of tips for those of you with more...difficult hair... that we found worked a lot better.
Tip #1: For thin or straight hair. Try spraying hair with a styling product like TIGI's Love Peace Planet 'Totally Beachin' or Bumble and Bumbles 'Surf Spray' and scrunch hair to add texture. This will help to keep your tiny buns in place without slipping out of the bobby pins.
Tip #2: If you have a little more time, try curling your hair first with a large barrel curling iron just create a little wave. Spray your hair with a heat protectant spray like Paul Mitchell's 'Hot Off the Press', which also serves as a working hairspray that will help hold hair. The curls will add enough texture to keep the buns in place and the heat protectant spray will act like a flexible hairspray.

Tip #3: Or, you can just use the old trick of not washing your hair, the night before trying out this look. Just add a little shine spray to make it look polished.

Tip #4: If you have thick hair. Try creating two or three rows of buns instead of just one. This will give you a more unique look and people will think you spent hours doing your hair =)

Note: Definitely easier to do on short to mid length hair
